Feasts and Festivals

Sinead Cusack from the Culture Quarter, Derry City and Strabane District Council, facilitated a workshop on Feasts and Festivals with the Primary Seven children.

The children discussed a wide range of festivals and feasts celebrated by a wide diversity of cultures across the whole world.

This is part of our PDMU programme and helps the children to understand that while we share our world with many different nationalities, religions and cultures our celebrations are often based on common themes.  The children are developing an awareness of the experiences, lives and cultures of people in the wider world, including the diversity of cultures that contribute to life in Northern Ireland.
